How can we help each other in the crisis?

Conducting remote meetings, watching Netflix, cooking healthy food, working out, having virtual drinks, etc. What else can we do in times of coronavirus?

Many people have been affected by the current crisis. And I am not talking only about layoffs. Many of us are struggling with fear or anxiety. Others have a lack of communication and support.

So how can we show a little bit of empathy and help those who need us now? I’ve got some ideas:

  • You came across the post from someone who lost a job and looking for a new one?

💡 Please don’t ignore that request but rather like and reshare it. Maybe someone from your network is able to help. Be a good-hearted person.

  • You are a leader and you’ve noticed that your team shows signs of insecurity & the energy level had dropped?

💡 Start your daily stand up with a simple question “How are you doing?”, “Is there anything that wakes you up at night?”, “How is your family? “. This is the golden opportunity to show that you care and want to help in overcoming that fear. Create an atmosphere where your employees can confide in you.

  • Your neighbour is an elderly person?

💡 Don’t be a stranger, smile, say “hi” and ask if there is anything you can help with. Not everyone is brave enough to ask for assistance.

  • You get bored and want to kill time?

đź’ˇ Reach out to volunteers and offer your help. There are plenty of organizations and initiators who will be glad to get an extra pair of hands.

  • You see that the company’s business doesn’t go well and many things collapsed down?

💡 Ask your colleagues about what you can do for them. Don’t be afraid to make your hands dirty and thus help the organization. It’s easy to forget about others in difficult times. Make sure you don’t.

  • You have little tasks and don’t know what else to do?

💡 Refer to the previous tip. Not applicable? Then simply start doing something you always wanted to but didn’t have time or energy. This is the best time to invest in self-development, self-awareness and develop new habits.

Is there anything else we could do in such difficult times? Please feel free to share your ideas in the comments below.

Thanks for reading!
